Joanne (Buron) Perry

TAUNTON - JoAnne (Buron) Perry, 80, died at Morton Hospital & Medical Center on May 10, 2012, following a long illness.
She was the wife of Robert Perry of Taunton, to whom she was married for fifty-nine years.
Born, raised and educated in Bridgewater, she was the daughter of the late Archibald and Eileen (McGinn) Buron.
A graduate of the former Morton Hospital School of Nursing, Mrs. Perry was a member of the class of 1952, the last to graduate prior to the school's closing.
Mrs. Perry worked for over 40 years as an RN in many areas of nursing including working at Morton Hospital, private duty nursing, Princess House in North Dighton, and as an instructor of nursing for the Bristol Plymouth nursing program.
She also worked many years for the late Dr Theodore Thayer.
A communicant of St. Mary's Church, and recipient of the Marian Medal, she was actively involved in fundraising, both with the church and with Coyle & Cassidy High School.
JoAnne was also active with the Taunton Jaycees.
In addition to her husband, she leaves a son, Robert E. Perry and his wife Maryann of Taunton; a daughter, Susan Caponigro and her husband Timothy of Milton; a brother, Thomas Buron of Haymarket, VA; a sister, Patricia Boyd of Canandaigua, NY; three grandchildren, Jay and Max Caponigro, and Olivia Fonseca; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Donald and Edward Buron, Mary-Lou O'Neill and Elizabeth McLean.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Tuesday, May 15th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Mary's Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday, May 14th from 4 to 8 p.m.
