Joaquim F. Moura, age 89 of Taunton, passed away on October 15, 2022 at Morton Hospital.
He was the beloved husband of the late Rosa (Fontes) Moura.
Joaquim was born in Santa Maria, Azores, the son of the late Jose R. and Maria (Fontes) Moura.
Before retiring, Mr. Moura was employed with Leach & Garner as a machine operator for over 40 years. Mr. Moura served with the Portuguese Army from 1953-1961. Mr. Moura was also a member of the Taunton Eagle’s and Rehoboth Holy Ghost Society. He enjoyed Dancing and having a glass of Portuguese wine.
Mr. Moura is survived by his daughter in law Teresa (Ventura) Moura, Sister in law’s Madalena Alford and husband Edward, Rosa Fontes and brother in law Manuel Fontes and wife Natalie and grandfather of Joshua, James and Amanda. He was the beloved father of the late Jose Moura and Maria Moura and brother of the late Joao, Antonio, Manuel, Miguel and Jose Moura.
Mr. Moura’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 8:30am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square.) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Saint Anthony Church School Street, Taunton. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, October 18th from 4 to 7pm in the Silva Funeral Home.
