John J. Barry, age 77 of Taunton, passed away on May 8, 2023 at the Veterans Medical Center in Providence.
He was the beloved husband of Theresa (Coelho) Barry.
Born in Boston, John was the son of the late John and Catherine (Abrams) Barry.
Mr. Barry was employed with Acosta Marketing. He audited the two Raynham Walmart Stores daily. Mr. Barry was a proud Army Veteran who served in Vietnam. He was awarded with the National Defense Medal and the Marksman Badge.
Mr. Barry enjoyed bowling. He bowled at Lang’s Bowlerama in Cranston, RI. Over the 40 years that he bowled, he won many tournaments and awards. He loved FBI stories and the New York Yankees and Giants. Jack loved playing with his miniature dachshund “Misty.”
Besides his beloved wife Terry, John is survived by his step-children: Grant Zajac and significant other Danielle Marshall and Jessica Theriault and husband Randy. He is also survived by his brother Robert Francis Barry of Plymouth, his children Christopher, Robert Jr. and Joanna Barry King, Grandniece Julia Catherine King.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 15, 2023 at 10am in Saint Anthony Church 126 School Street, Taunton. His Interment with military honors will be held at a date to be announced at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Relatives and friends may meet directly at Church at 9:30am.
