John Dacunha

John DaCunha , 57, of Berkley, MA, passed away peacefully on Monday evening, October 8, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Marianne T. (Marshall) DaCunha. They were married for 36 years.

Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal, he was the son of the late Jose and Maria daGloria (Tavares) DaCunha.

John worked as a construction superintendent for Aggregate Industries for twenty six years. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Fall River Country Club, Local Union 721 and the Taunton Eagles. He also loved soccer, fishing, hunting, but most of all, enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Ryan F. DaCunha, of Plymouth, MA and Erica L. Rezendes, and her husband, Jordan, of Berkley, MA; a sister, Idalia Matos; two brothers, Joseph and Gilbert Cunha; one niece; four nephews; and his faithful cat, Louie. He was also the uncle of the late Weber Matos.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday , October 12, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, in the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton (at Saint Mary’s Square)

(Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home)

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend John’s Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday , October 13, 2018 at 10:00 am, in the Annunciation of the Lord Church, 31 First Street, Taunton. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory can be made to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
