John V. Paioni, Jr., age 79 of Norton, and of Zephyrhills, FL, passed away on February 24, 2021 with his loving family by his side.
He was the beloved husband of Donna (Wood) Paioni.
John was born in Attleboro, the son of the late John V. and Marguerite (Garland) Paioni, Sr.
Before retiring , John was employed with Clay Chevrolet in Norwood as an automobile technician, a profession he loved for 47 years. He also played bass guitar, upright bass as well as sang in several band over the years.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, and walking his “four legged girlfriend”-Annie, a 14 year old cocker spaniel. He loved camping, telling jokes to anyone that would listen, and eating Italian food. He enjoyed spending winters in Zephyrhills, FL with the many friends he made there. He enjoyed attending car shows and listening to all music, especially classic country. He would talk to anyone and everyone, sometimes even in Italian. John joked about someday being a greeter at Walmart that way he could spend his days just talking to people.
Besides his beloved wife of Donna of over 55 years, he is survived by his loving children; Patricia Paioni of Mansfield and Jeffrey Paioni and his wife Amanda of Norton. He was also the grandfather of Madison and Noelle Paioni, the brother of Cynthia Nolan and her husband Jiggs of Easton and the uncle of Stephen, Kevin and Erik Nolan
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, March 14, 2021 from 2 to 5 pm in the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, additional parking with handicap access is located on the north side of the funeral home.
John’s funeral will be held on Monday, March 15th beginning at 11 am with a service to be held at 12 noon in the Silva Funeral Home. Interment will follow in North Purchase cemetery in Attleboro.
During all of the services, facial coverings and social distancing will be required.
