Jose Corvelo, age 88, of Lancaster, MA, passed away peacefully in the late evening hours of Friday, March 15, 2024, at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester, MA. He was the dear and loving husband to the late Eulalia (Santana) Corvelo, who passed away on February 2, 2018.
Born on the island of Flores, Azores, Jose was one of two sons born to the late Jose and Maria L. Corvelo. He was raised and educated in the Azores. He was a proud veteran of the Portuguese Army.
In 1966, Jose immigrated to the United States, settling in Taunton, MA. For many years, he worked in the Maintenance Department at Texas Instruments in Attleboro, until his well deserved retirement in 1997.
In his spare time Jose enjoyed gardening, cooking, and an occasional trip to the casino's.
Jose is survived by his proud and cherished children: Anthony M. Corvelo of Lancaster, MA and Maria F. Pohl and her husband Michael of Lexington, SC; his 4 grandchildren: Bryan and Amanda Corvelo and Matthew and Micaela Pohl; brother: Antonio S. Corvelo of Winton, CA; and also numerous extended family members and friends.
Jose’s Mass of Christian Burial for the repose of his soul, will be held on Saturday , March 23, 2024 at 9am in St. Anthony Church, 126 School St., Taunton. There will be no procession from the funeral home. Relatives and friends are asked to meet directly at St. Anthony Church and park in the lot behind the church.
Interment will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery, E Britannia St., Taunton.
Visitation is respectfully omitted.
