Jose daRosa Furtado, age 87 of Taunton, passed away on July 7, 2020.
He was the beloved husband of the late Maria Arcelina (Furtado) Furtado.
Jose was born in Faial Acores, the son of the late Jose Furtado and Francisca Ventura. Before retiring, Mr. Furtado was employed with H & H Machine Company and previously with the NE Brass Company. He enjoyed all NE sports teams especially the Boston Bruins. Mr. Furtado was a hard working man, he was loving and caring and devoted to his family.
Mr. Furtado is survived by his loving children; Joseph I. Furtado and wife Carol of North Dighton, Manuel Furtado and wife Colleen, Michael Furtado and wife Tracy both of Taunton, Mary Aguiar and husband John, Susan Furtado both of Somerset and Debbie Furtado of Bourne. Grandfather of 11 Cory and wife Sarah, Casey, Kylie, Brittney, Kelsey, JohnJohn, Ashlyn, Kyle, Evan, Tyler & Savannah , great-grandfather of Wesley. He was also the brother of Maria Do Ceu Pinheiro of Canada & Maria De Jesus Silva of Faial Acores and many nieces and nephews. Jose was also the father of the late Cindy Furtado and brother of the late Maria dos Anjos Furtado of Faial Acores & Maria da Gloria Vieira of Providence, RI.
Mr. Furtado’s funeral will be held on Monday, July 13, 2020 at 7:30 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (At Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am in Saint Anthony Church School Street, Taunton.
Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
