Jose O. Lourenco, age 86 of Taunton, passed away on April 29, 2024 at his residence.

He was the beloved husband of the late Idalia (Silva) Lourenco.

Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Jose was the son of the late Joao and Maria (Gloria) Lourenco.

Before retiring, Mr. Lourenco was employed with the former American Lighting as a machine operator for many years.

He enjoyed gardening, making homemade Portuguese wine and especially spending time with family friends.

Jose is survived by his sister-in-law; Saulina Matos and her husband Ivo of Taunton, brother-in-laws; Altino Silva and his wife Julieta of East Providence, Jose Silva and his wife Zulmira of East Providence, Aires Silva and his wife Lucia of Ontario, Canada. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins throughout MA, RI and Canada.

Mr. Lourenco’s funeral with visitation will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 10am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon in Annunciation of the Lord Church First St, Taunton.

Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
