TAUNTON - Jose Moniz Pacheco, 89, a Taunton resident since 1970, died at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River on Oct. 7, 2011.
He was the husband of Altina (Bulhoes) Pacheco, his wife of nearly sixty years.
Born in Sao Braz, St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Manuel Jose and Maria Estrela (Moniz) Pacheco.
Mr. Pacheco moved to Brazil 1952, and later, to the U.S. in 1970.
A longtime employee of Nabisco, Mr. Pacheco retired in 1984, and was a communicant of St. Andrew the Apostle Church.
Besides his wife of Taunton, he leaves two sons, Jose O. Pacheco of Taunton, and Renato D. Pacheco of Brockton; three daughters, Theresa Chapman of Seekonk, Deolinda Dos Anjos of Bristol, RI and Maria "Cida" Moniz of Taunton; three sisters, Hortencia Pereira of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Maria R. Pacheco of St. Michael, Azores, and Laura Antunes of Vancouver, BC, Canada; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was also the father of the late Luis, Aurelio and Januario Pacheco, and the brother of the late Antonio M. Pacheco, and Mariana DaSilva.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Wednesday, Oct. 12th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Andrew the Apostle Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Oct. 11th from 5 to 8 p.m.
