TAUNTON - Jose M. Pereira, husband of the late Luzia Conceicao (Adriano) Pereira of Taunton, died at Morton Hospital & Medical Center on Aug. 15, 2011.
He was 85.
Born in St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Joao M. and Amelia (Martins) Pereira.
He was raised and educated in the Azores before moving to the Taunton area in 1968.
Employed by Coppercraft Guild in Taunton as a machine operator, Mr. Pereira retired many years ago.
He was a communicant of Annunciation of The Lord Church.
Survivors include two sons, John Pereira and his wife Mena, and Daciel Pereira and his wife Donna, all of Taunton; a daughter, Madalena Borges and her husband Gregory of Taunton; four sisters, Natalia Oliveira and Amelia Martins, both of Canada, and Gilda Botelho, and Geraldina Tavares, both of Taunton; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also the father of the late Sally and Mary Pereira, and the brother of the late Manuel Pereira.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Friday, Aug. 19th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at Annunciation of The Lord Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday August 18th from 6 to 8 p.m.
