Jose C. Valadao , 95, of Taunton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Longmeadow of Taunton. He was the beloved husband of the late Maria G. (Toste) Valadao.
Born in Terceira, Acores, Portugal. He was the son of the late Manuel and Maria de Sousa.
Jose was an active parishioner of St. Anthony Church and enjoyed raising his grandchildren, fishing, and spending time with family. He also served in the Portuguese Army.
He worked as a carpenter for many years in Terceira also worked for Eureka Manufacturing in Norton.
Mr. Valadao is survived by his children, Lina Cabral, and husband, Dinis Cabral, of Raynham, Lucia Vieira and husband, Elmiro Vieira, of Taunton, Maria Brasil, of Taunton, Tome Valadao, and wife, Celestina Valadao, of Taunton, and Jose Valadao, and wife, Ondina Valadao, of Attleboro; 5 sisters, Maria, Belmira, Lizete, Judite, of Acores Portugal and Elvira, of Toronto Canada; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. He was the father in law of the late Manuel Brasil.
His funeral with visitation will be held on Monday , August 12, 2019 from 8:15-10:15 am, in the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, with Mass of Christian Burial to follow in St. Anthony Church, at 11:00 am. Interment will be in Mayflower Hill Cemetery, Taunton
