Joseph Cardoso

Joseph Cardoso, age 89, passed away on January 5, 2026 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital.

He was the beloved husband of the late Patricia A. (Nyzio) Cardoso.

Joseph was born in Central Falls RI, the son of the late Pedro and Maria (Barbosa) Cardoso.

Before retiring, Mr. Cardoso’s career was in the construction business. He enjoyed sports, music of all kinds and spending time with his family.Joseph also proudly served his country with the Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1954-57.

Mr. Cardoso is survived by his two sons, Wayne J. Cardoso of Raynham, MA and Jeffrey J. Cardoso and his wife Ginni of Charlton, MA, he was the grandfather of 7 and great-grandfather of 3. Joseph also leaves behind his fiancé Linda Laxton of Attleboro, MA. Joseph was predeceased by his siblings Pedro Cardoso, Eleanor Oliver and Delores Maurice.

Mr. Cardoso’s services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 11:00 am in the chapel of the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton. Service is for family and invited guests.

Interment will be held privately at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts made to the American Heart Association in Mr. Cardoso’s memory, would be deeply appreciated.
