Joseph Farias, a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025. He was 88 years old.

A lifelong resident of Taunton, Joe became a master electrician and was employed by Reed & Barton Silversmiths for nearly 50 years. He honorably served in The Massachusetts Army National Guard from 1956-1964.

Joe is survived by his wife of 68 years, Theresa (Sylvia) Farias; his sons Barry (Eileen) and Robert; grandchildren Jeffrey, Allison, and Kathy; and his nieces and nephews.

He was the son of the late Joseph and Rose (DeCouta) Farias and the brother of the late George Farias.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2025 from 2 to 5pm in the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton. Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 10th at 11am in Annunciation of the Lord Church, 31 First Street, Taunton. Relatives and friends may meet directly at church at 10:45am.

Interment will be held privately.
