Joseph Mendonca, age 82 of Berkley, passed away on December 13, 2017 at his home with his family at his side.
He was the beloved husband of Carol (Matteson) Mendonca.
Joe was born in Fall River, a son of the late Mariano and Maria de Lourdes (Domingoes) Mendonca.
Before retirement, Mr. Mendonca was employed with Ad-A-Day as a binder foreman for over 42 years.
He was a member of the NRA and he loved to collect trains.
Besides his loving wife Carol of over 25 years, he is survived by his children; David Mendonca and his wife Cheryl of North Dartmouth, Donna Medeiros and her husband John of Seekonk, and a step son Leonard Waite of Fall River. He was the grandfather of Jared Mendonca and brother of Gloria August and her husband Robert of Westport , several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Joe was also the father of the late Don Mendonca.
Mr. Mendonca’s funeral with visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 11 am in the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) in Taunton with a service to begin at 12 noon. Interment will follow in Fox Cemetery, Berkley.
