TAUNTON - Joseph C. Silva, III, husband of the late Frances (Ulak) Silva, died at Life Care Center of Raynham on Nov. 6, 2008 at the age of 82.
He was the son of the late Joseph C. and Frances (Perry) Silva.
Born in Taunton, he was educated in the Taunton school system.
Immediately following his high school graduation, he honorably served his country during WWII as a member of the U.S. Navy.
For many years, he co-owned/operated the Weir Cash Market, later working as a meat cutter for Trucchi's Supermarkets.
After many years of hard work, he retired, spending summers in Bristol, Rhode Island.
His commendable character and good nature will truly be missed by his loving family and friends.
He leaves a son, Michael Silva and his wife Vivian of S. Easton; a brother, John Silva of Lexington; a sister, Mary Hanson of Cambridge; 5 grandchildren, Ally, Kyle, Brittany, Cameron and Jonathan; and a niece, Leah Hanson.
He was also the father of the late Marc J. Silva, who is survived by his devoted wife, Cynthia. A Memorial Mass will be held at Holy Family Church, East Taunton on Tuesday, Nov. 18th at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
