Joseph W. Yodsnukis, age70 of Taunton, passed away unexpectedly on June 10, 2023 at his residence. Joe was born in Taunton, the son of the late Joseph and Alice (Vieira) Yodsnukis. Before retiring, Joe was employed with the Department of Developmental Services. Joe truly cherished his time as a caregiver for over 32 years where he affected many people’s lives. Joe was a very caring and humble person who loved his life’s work. Joe was also a proud Airforce Veteran of The Vietnam Era; to which he was stationed at Grand Forks AFB where he met his former wife, Denelle Hunter. There they had a son Christopher. Above all Joe loved being a father and uncle, he cherished his annual visits to ND. He loved his time being included in Marshall Bros Trucking. He was a lifelong member of the Taunton Boys & Girls Club Floor Hockey program to which he has an award named after him The Joseph Yodsnukis Goalie of the Year. He also was very proud to receive The Richard J. Falkner Award for his outstanding service for this program. Joe also enjoyed being the treasurer for the AFSCME Local 651 for many years, where he found great joy in assisting others with their union issues. And he also relished his time with his friends, Tony and Dave, for concerts and meals.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph & Alice Yodsnukis, brother-in-law, Andrew Marshall III and his nephew David Yodsnukis. Joe is survived by a son, Christopher Yodsnukis and his wife Christine of North Dakota; his sister, Margaret “Peggy” Marshall of Taunton MA and brother, Dennis Yodsnukis and his wife Janet of Maine. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews; Dennis Yodsnukis and Denise Yodsnukis of Plymouth MA. Andrew “AJ” Marshall, Keith Marshall and his wife Jessica and Jaimie Cowen of Taunton MA. Along with Tony, Robbie and Laura Hughes; Dana, Dale and Debi Bigelow; Justin, Jason and Jeff Hunter, Hannah Hunter all of ND. He also has many other great-nieces and nephews who lovingly referred him to Uncle Jojo. And last but not least one grand puppy, Sammy.

Joseph’s funeral with visitation will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 8am in the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Holy Family Church Middleboro Avenue, East Taunton.
