Julia (Andrade) Avelino

Julia Avelino (Andrade) 101, of Taunton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at CareOne at Randolph. She was the wife of the late Joseph P. Avelino. Born in Taunton, MA, she was the daughter of the late John and Maria (daRoza Barboza) Andrade. She worked as an assembler at the former Yankee Chemical Company, prior to retirement. Julia enjoyed traveling, crocheting, watching wrestling and soap operas, going to the casinos, and sewing for family and friends. Mrs. Avelino is survived by her three sons, John Avelino, of Brockton, Timothy Avelino, of Taunton, and Kevin Avelino, of Raynham; three daughters, Vitalina “Vicki” A. Patten, of Beverly, Mary “Marie” Avelino, of Dedham, and Kathleen Avelino, of Newton; 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Joseph and Antone Andrade; and aunt to many loving nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2020 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, in the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton (at Saint Mary’s Square) Social distancing will be observed, please wait in your vehicle and a staff member will escort guests into the funeral home. We ask those who are attending to kindly wear a mask before entering the funeral home. Additional parking with handicap access is located on the north side of the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 12, 2020 at 9:00 am, in Saint Anthony Church, School Street, Taunton. Everyone may meet directly at church and are asked to park in the back parking lot, please wear masks when entering the church. Interment will be in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.
