Julie A. Bauer

Julie A. (Wirka) Bauer, age 89 of Rehoboth, passed away on March 16, 2026 at her residence with her loving family by her side.

Julie was the loving companion of Terry Crockett.

Born in Madison, WI, the daughter of the late  Dr. Herman and Mildred (Engler) Wirka.

Before retiring, Julie was employed with the US Government with the census bureau for many years.

Julie was a graduate of Brown University. She loved all animals especially dogs and birds, she enjoyed reading working in her flower garden and traveling throughout the US, Canada, Europe and Asia.

Besides her beloved companion Terry of over 45 years, Julie is survived by her children, Christiane Stakely and her husband Bob of Michigan, Michele Stenberg and husband Kurt of Providence, Jacques Bauer and wife Nelly, Jean-Claude Bauer both of France, grandmother of 13, great-grandmother of many. Julie was also the sister of the late Dr. Herman Wirka, Jr. She also is survived by her dear friends Matt and Lisa Bellas.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday April 25, 2026 at 1pm in the First Congregational Church “Stone Church” 785 South Main Street, Raynham MA 02767 . Relatives and friends may meet directly at church at 12:45pm.

Her burial will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts made to the First Congregational Church 785 South Main Street, Raynham MA 02767 in Julie’s memory, would be deeply appreciated.
