Karen(Kay)M. (Mitton) Souza, age 73 of Taunton, passed away on May 2, 2025 at Morton Hospital.

She was the beloved wife of Paul Souza.

Born in Taunton, Karen was the daughter of the late Roy and Adrienne (Milot) Mitton.

Kay graduated from Taunton High School class of 1969.

and received her Associates degree from Newbury College

Besides her beloved husband Paul Karen is survived by her sister Judith (Mitton) Gallego, Nephew Leonard Gallego and his wife Erin (McCarthy) Gallego.

Nephew Kyle Souza and Great Niece Victoria Baltimore Gallego.

Paul and Karen's kids throughout their years were their dogs the Late H.D. , Sheba, Brenda, Ellie, Snoopy and Sasha.

An avid lover of New England sports, Kay also enjoyed playing pool, and motorcycle rides with Paul and their friends, reading Gone with the Wind (her favorite). She was also Paul's biggest fan when he played softball.

But above all else Karen loved Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. She never missed a concert when they came to town.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, May 18th, 2025 at 2 pm followed by a service to begin at 5 pm in the Chapel of the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton.

Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home.

Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts made to, St Jude Or the American Cancer Society .in Karen’s memory, would be deeply appreciated.
