Katarina "Nina" Marie Furtado, age 28, passed away on March 28, 2021 due to multiple complications of liver disease.
She stayed at Massachusetts General Hospital with her loving family by her side. Katarina, known as Nina, was born in Taunton and was the beloved daughter of Susan Sarsfield and Victor Furtado.
Before her illness, she was known as Miss Nina as a preschool teacher to so many young children. She enjoyed anything Disney, time with her family and absolutely loved watching The Golden Girls.
Besides her loving parents, Nina was loved by her step-father Dave and her step-mother Michelle. Nina is survived by her loving brothers and sisters Michael, Alyssa, Christopher, Lindsay, Alexis and Kayley. Nina also leaves behind so many amazing aunts and uncles with adoring cousins that loved her so very much!
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday April 3, 2021 from 4:00 - 7:00PM at Silva Funeral Home located at 80 Broadway (Saint Mary's Square) Taunton Ma. Additional parking with handicapped access is located on the North side of the funeral home.
Nina’s funeral will be held Monday April 5, 2021 at 8AM from the Silva Funeral Home. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in Saint Bernard Church, 30 South Main St, Assonet MA.
Interment will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery.
During all services face coverings and social distancing will be required.
