Katherine M. “Kathie” Brodeur, 82, of Fall River, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 6th, 2024.
Born in Framingham, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Aguiar and Margaret (Medeiros) (Aguiar) Silva, and step-daughter to the late Joseph M. Silva. She was also the former wife of the late Norman Brodeur.
For almost 30 years, Kathie worked as the bookkeeper for Dartmouth Building Supply until her retirement in 2005. She enjoyed country music, Kenny Rogers, camping, family outings and the occasional thrill ride when coaxed, and accumulating an enormous collection of elephants. Having a skilled talent for crochet, she enjoyed many years volunteering at the Tiverton Senior Center as a member of the knitting club, crocheting mittens, hats and beautiful blankets that she lovingly called "hugs" for local veterans and shelters.
Survivors include her loving and devoted children, Chuck Boucher and his wife Dianne of Somerset, and Rev. Dr. Karen M. Boucher of Sanford, Michigan; grandson, Michael Pacheco Jr. of Westport; granddaughter, Melissa (Pacheco) Fonseca of Holliston; brother, Tony Silva of Fall River as well as thirteen nieces and nephews. She was also mother of the late David Scott Boucher, and sister of the late Joseph “Charlie” Aguiar, John Silvia, and Carolina “Carol” Barlow.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, February 15th from 5-8pm at Silva-Faria Somerset Funeral Home, 84 County Street in Somerset where her funeral service will take place at 7pm. Burial of her ashes in Oak Grove Cemetery will be privately held.
