On Friday, March 13 2020, Kristine E. Ekholm, age 64, of Taunton, lost her battle with choloangiocarcinoma, a rare form of cancer. She fought hard for 5+ years against tough offs however remained vigilant like the warrior she was. During her passing she was surrounded by her loving family & friends at holding her hands!
Kris was born in Quincy as the one and only beautiful daughter to the late Carl and Ruth (Pennel) Ekholm. Kris is a mom, a grandmother, aunt, great aunt, sister and most of all family to everyone.
Kris was vibrant, always smiling and full of life. She touched every person she came into contact with. Kris was quick wit and full of laughter. She enjoyed spending time with her family, her loving friends & her adorable animals. Kris lived life to the fullest and never missed a good time. She spread love and kindness to everyone she came in contact with and always remained positive during the toughest times. She loved spending time with her son Jason traveling to different places all over the country, dancing the night away at her favorite concerts & going to events to meet the stars. She enjoyed being with her son Ryan taking adventurous drives, spending time at the beach catching the sun, watching funny TV shows & movies. Kris loved having cookouts, dancing, playing bingo, cribbage, eating ice cream all amongst her family and friends. She loved her Sangria drinks and always had the belief that they were non-alcoholic, lol. Kris loved her animals Muffy, Shadow, Chicky, Mia, Maggie, Keiko & Merry. Kris always shook her booty to her favorite music from Madonna, Cher, Tina Turner, Duran Duran, Celine Dion, Bette Midler, Michael Jackson & more. One of her favorite things each year was traveling to Islamorada FL with her brother Richard and her beautiful nieces Carly & Neely. She truly loved these trips and the times she got with her brother and nieces. Her favorite thing in FL was Basking in the sun on a hammock with a sangria in hand watching the beautiful “keys” sunset. Kris was able to spend an ample amount of time with her best friends from work at home daily, which she loved doing to pass the time away. She spent great times with her besties from work and she was always the life of the party or as they called her the Mayor of Walmart. They shared laughs and memories of all their times together. Kris always gave the shirt off her back for those in need and never let anyone have a bad time. Kris was adored, cherished and loved by all. Kris will be greatly missed by all she will be forever our loving mom!
She is survived by her sons; Jason Ekholm and Ryan Ekholm, brothers; Richard Ekholm, Ralph Ekholm, granddaughter; Sophia. She was the sister of the late Carl Ekholm, Jr. and Paul Ekholm.
