Laura (Silva) Grasso, age 91 of Mystic, CT and formerly of Taunton, passed away just one day after her birthday at Laurence & Memorial Hospital in New London, CT.
She was the beloved wife of the late Michael L. Grasso.
Laura was born in Taunton, a daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Medeiros) Silva.
Before retirement, Mrs. Grasso was employed with Reed & Barton for many years. Laura was a former communicant of Saint Jude the Apostle Church formerly Immaculate Conception Church where she was the recipient of the Marian Medal. Laura was also a member of the Women’s Guild. She was an avid Red Sox Fan, enjoyed reading, scratch tickets, going to the casino and playing with her dogs. Laura was a loving grandmother and cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mrs. Grasso was the loving mother of Michael Grasso and his wife Joyce of Westerly, RI and Lorraine Grasso of Mystic, CT, grandmother of Thomas Grasso and wife Michelle of Houston, TX, Christopher Grasso and wife Sarah of Mystic, CT, great-grandmother of Charlotte and Amelia Grasso. Mrs. Grasso was also the sister of the late Manuel Silva, Edith Ryng, Edna White and Mary Silva.
Laura’s funeral with visitation will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 9 :30 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in Saint Jude the Apostle Church Whittenton St., Taunton. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
