Ledora (Isidorio) Soitos

May 3, 1921 — July 22, 2020

Ledora ‘Doris’ (Isidorio) Soitos, 99, of Taunton, beloved wife for 42 years of the late Francis S. Soitos, passed away on July 22, 2020.

She was born May 3, 1921 in Fall River, MA, the daughter of  the late Manuel and Ann (Emmett) Isidorio.

Doris worked throughout her life in several factories and offices and finally as a supervisor at the TMLP before retiring after 25 years in 1987.

Doris was an accomplished seamstress, and enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and visiting other countries. She also enjoyed swimming and was an avid reader, reading close to 1000 books after her retirement. She was a fan of the New England Patriots and loved to talk about the games with her family members. Doris enjoyed telling stories about her life growing up in the Depression and her oral history was recorded and included in the book Women at Work, an Oral History of Working Class Women in Fall River, Massachusetts 1920-1970.

Doris leaves her son Stephen F. Soitos of Northampton, MA, her daughter Francine Aloisa and husband William of Enfield, CT, and her cherished granddaughters; Devon Aloisa, Lauren Aloisa - Clark and husband Oscar, and Stefana Soitos. Doris also leaves her sister Dolores Grandmont of Taunton and her special sister-in-law Eileen Coelho of Naples, FL, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers; Hilario, Joseph, Frank and Vincent Isidorio, and four sisters; Lillian Gazek, Nora Isidorio, Irene Gray and Thelma Barabas.

We would like to thank the many caregivers, especially Karen Pine, for the help she received in her later years, as well as the compassionate staff at Marian Manor. Your care was much appreciated.

Mrs. Soitos’s funeral will be held on Friday, July 24, 2020 at 8:30 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at St. Mary’s Square) Taunton with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Annunciation of the Lord Church, Taunton.

Burial will be held privately.
