RAYNHAM - Leo P. Champagne died at Coyne Nursing Rehab Center in Rockland after a lengthy illness on October 20, 2010.
He was 68.
Born in Newport, VT he was the son of the late Eugene J. and Mary Jane (Desbiens) Champagne.
He was educated and a graduate of Norton schools, and from trade school for tool and dye making in Connecticut.
He was the owner and operator of Raynham Tool and Dye Making for many years.
He was a communicant of St. Ann Church of Raynham.
Mr. Champagne was a NASCAR fan and had an extreme love for animals, and enjoyed taking his own dogs for long walks in Massasoit State Park.
He leaves his former wife, Jayne M. (Travers) Champagne of Raynham; a son, Gary Rioux of Taunton; a daughter, Carrie Champagne of Raynham; a brother, Norman Champagne of Norton; five sisters, Rita Champagne of Washington, D.C., Lena Fraser of N. Carolina, Jeanette Allen of Attleboro, Linda Gerrick Virginia Beach, VA and Theresa Beaulieu of N. Attleboro; and a grandson, Nathan Champagne.
He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Saturday Oct. 23rd at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Ann Church, Raynham at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday Oct. 22nd, from 5 to 8 p.m.
