Leo O. Michaud, 82 of Taunton, the beloved husband of Deborah (Macy) Michaud, passed away on October 19, 2020 at Brigham & Woman’s Hospital.

Leo was born in Fall River, the son of the late Oscar and Eva (Bussiere) Michaud.

Before retiring, Mr. Michaud was employed as a Electronic Technician, at EMC, the Northrop Corporation, and at the Sippican Corporation.   He also worked as a cook for 3 years.

He was a member of the Loon Pond Horseshoe Club, the MA Horseshoe Pitchers Assoc.,(HPA) the New England HPA, and the National HPA.   He held offices at all of those levels and was awarded as Regional Director of the Year nationally as well as being named to the state and New England HPA Halls of Fame.  Despite being born with a cardiac defect, he was a member of the Narragansett Bay Wheelmen and participated in century and other bicycle rides as well as many running events, even completing a half marathon.   He was also a member of the Taunton Rifle & Pistol Club.

He followed politics avidly and was resilient in the face of many health challenges throughout his life.

Besides his beloved wife Deborah with whom he just celebrated 54 years of marriage together, he also leaves his loving children; Hans Michaud and Shawneen Michaud. He was also the brother of Paul and Roland Michaud, Jeanne Gibeau and Vivian Moniz.

All funeral services will be privately held with the Silva Funeral Home of Taunton.
