Leslie John Staples, age 78 of Taunton, passed away on August 28, 2022 at Morton Hospital with his loving family by his side.
He was the beloved husband of Carolyn (Rebello) Staples.
Mr. Staples was born in Taunton, the son of the late Percival and Lena (Washburn) Staples.
Before retiring, Leslie was employed with Morton Hospital as a Respiratory Therapist for many years.
Leslie enjoyed sports, especially the Boston Red Sox. He was an avid reader and loved to travel. He also enjoyed woodworking with his pal Al. Most of all Les cherished time spent with his grandchildren.
Besides his beloved wife Carolyn of over 37 years, he is survived by his loving children; James, Amy, and Christina Staples; Michael Vernazzaro, Gina Rose and husband Jeff, Melissa Pancarowicz and husband David, and Lori Delgado. Papa of Jonathan, Nicholas, and Kayla Oliveira; Zachary Rose; Alexander and Alyssa Delgado; Shaun and Adam Vernazzaro; James, Vanessa, and Jessica Smith; Aaron, Thomas, Natashia, Dustin, Krystal and Samantha.
Leslie’s funeral with visitation will be held on Friday, September 2, 2022 at 8:30am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Saint Andrew the Apostle Church Kilmer Ave, Taunton. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts made to; Multiple Sclerosis Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Leslie’s memory, would be deeply appreciated.
