Liliana (Borges) Tavares

Liliana (Borges) Tavares age 83 of Taunton, passed away on February 26, 2018 at Morton Hospital with her family by her side.

She was the wife of Francisco Tavares.

Liliana was born in Sao Miguel, Azores a daughter of the late Iliziario and Maria (Gloria) Borges.

Before retirement, Mrs. Tavares was employed at Ad-A-Day Company, Inc., for many years. Liliana enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting and going out to dinner. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

Besides her beloved husband Francisco of 54 years, Liliana is survived by her loving children; Ana Tavares of Taunton, Tilda Tavares of Taunton and  Liz Coutinho of Taunton. She was also like a "mother" to Rose Colon and Debbie Cataloni.  She was the grandmother of Katherine Coutinho, Cynthia Coutinho, and  Sebastian Coutinho  all of Taunton,  Aunt of Lucy DeMedeiros, Carlos DeMedeiros, Jovenal  DeMedeiros and wife Maria ,Tony DeMedeiros and wife Adriana, and Gorete Santos, and the sister of the late Jovenal Borges and Alziria De Medeiros.

Mrs. Tavares’ funeral with visitation will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 8am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Saint Anthony Church, School St., Taunton. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
