RAYNHAM - Loraine (Aguiar) Duarte, loving wife of the late James Duarte, died at Lifecare Center of Raynham on Sunday morning, December 20, 2015, where she had been a resident for several years.
She was born on Staten Island, NY, on October 17, 1928 to the late Manuel and Helen (Gonsalves) Aguiar of Taunton.
She was a retired RN, having worked at Morton Hospital for many years and retired from a head nursing position at Paul A. Dever State School.
She was a former member of the VFW Post 8049, Lady's Auxiliary in Norton and a Past Worthy Matron of Rose Croix Chapter No. 79 - Order of the Eastern Star of Taunton.
She is survived by a Son, James W. Duarte of Plainville, MA; two Daughters, Cynthia Robinson of Taunton and Martha Palmer of Groton, VT; three granddaughters, Julie (Robinson) Goicuria of Orlando, FL, Christine (Duarte) Olaniyan of Taunton and Stephanie Palmer of Groton, VT; two grandsons, Timothy Duarte of Taunton and John Palmer of Groton, VT; eight great grandchildren, Anthony Robinson and Ethan Goicuria, both of Orlando, FL, Grace Olaniyan, Sophia Olaniyan, Jaelin Halpin, Alivia Duarte and Tyler Duarte, all of Taunton and Callie Medeiros of Groton, VT. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 19 Kilmer Ave. on Tuesday, Jan. 5th at 10 a.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Burial will be private at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
