Lorraine Rose Correia

Lorraine Rose (Paige) Correia was a woman whose heart overflowed with love—for her family, her friends, and her Catholic faith. After a long illness, she was called home to God on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at the age of 90.

Born in Taunton, Massachusetts, to Manuel and Jacinta Paige, Lorraine or “Tootsie” as she was lovingly referred to, grew up surrounded by love, laughter, and strong values. Her parents taught her the importance of faith, family, and hard work—lessons that guided her throughout her life. She grew up in Berkley, Massachusetts, and graduated from Dighton High School, where she excelled in both academics and extracurriculars. Always full of energy and school spirit, she was captain of the cheerleading squad, played basketball, and earned numerous awards such as the Daughter’s of the American Revolution Award and many other honors.

When Lorraine found out she could not go to college because of family finances, it broke her heart, and she took a job at Standard Coil. It is here where she met a handsome young man from Bermuda, Charles Correia. Their love story quickly blossomed, and in 1954 they were married—a partnership built on their faith, respect, affection and similar culture. In 1960, they settled in Burlington, where they raised their family, though a piece of Lorraine’s heart always remained in her beloved hometown of Berkley. Lorraine attended Northeastern and Bently College and had a successful professional life. She worked before and after raising her children, finding fulfillment in roles where her reliability and integrity shone. She worked for the President of Continental Resources in Bedford, MA and the CEO of Raytheon Services, Burlington, MA earning the respect and admiration of all her colleagues.

Lorraine was also blessed with an abundance of talents. She was a gifted artist, painting beautiful painting in oils and acrylics that reflected her appreciation for the beauty of God’s world. She was also a talented seamstress—making clothing, curtains, and reupholstering furniture with precision and care. Her creativity extended to the kitchen, where she poured her love into every dish she prepared. Many of her recipes came from her family or her parents’ restaurant and carried the flavors of her Portuguese heritage. Whether it was her famous mac and cheese, whoopie pies, apple pie, or marinated pork, her cooking brought people together—and no one ever left her table hungry. When Lorraine had a quiet moment to herself, she threw herself into her books reading about religion, history and many other subjects—she always was surrounded by her books.

Faith was the cornerstone of Lorraine’s life. She did not just attend church—she lived her faith every day through kindness, generosity, and quiet strength. From her early days as a member of the Legion of Mary to her years teaching religious education at St. Margaret’s Church, Lorraine’s devotion was steady and sincere. She loved her work as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Dorothy’s Parish in Tewksbury and Lahey Clinic, Burlington. She brought comfort and companionship to patients at Lahey and did not simply deliver Communion—she offered a listening ear, a warm hand, and a prayer for anyone in need. In her later years, when her health made it difficult to attend Mass in person, she found solace in Catholic television, faithfully watching daily Mass and praying the rosary.

Becoming a grandmother was the greatest joy of Lorraine’s life. She loved nothing more than spending time with her 6 grandchildren—teaching them to cook, draw or whatever sparked their imagination. Her presence was her greatest gift. She gave her time freely, always ready to help or babysit, but at 7 p.m., she’d go home to have a cup of tea with her beloved Charles.

Lorraine lived her life with quiet humility, never seeking attention or praise. She found joy in life’s simplest gifts—the beauty of nature, the laughter of loved ones, a shared meal, a good book, and the comfort of home. She understood that the greatest treasures were not things but the moments and people that filled her days.

In her final months, Lorraine made it a point to remind her family just how deeply she loved them. Her words were gentle but full of meaning, a reflection of a lifetime spent giving love freely and without condition. Though she is no longer here, her spirit remains woven into the fabric of her family’s lives—a lasting reminder of a woman who lived with grace, gratitude, and an open heart.

Lorraine Rose (Paige) Correia was truly one of a kind. She is deeply missed and will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew her.

Lorraine was the beloved wife of 71 years of Charles Bento Correia. She was the loving mother and mother-in-law of John Paul Correia & his wife Judith of Billerica, C.X. Correia, and Mary Elizabeth Brand & her husband Dr. Thomas Brand of Burlington. She was the loving “Grandma” of Anthony Correia, Katy Correia, Paige Brand, Thomson Brand, Jonathan Brand, and Jaclyn Brand. She was the devoted sister of Edna Fernandes of Raynham & her late husband Joseph, the late Edward Paige & his late wife Betty, late Evelyn Correia & her late husband Joseph, and late Margaret Silva & her late husband Manuel. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held at Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway Street, Taunton, MA on Monday, November 10 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Followed by as Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann’s Church, 660 North Main Street, Raynham, MA 02767 at Noon. Services will conclude with a burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 475 E Britannia St, Taunton, MA 02780.
