Louise E. (Silvia) Cranmer, wife of Raymond T. Cranmer, died at Morton Hospital on May 31, 2009, following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was 76.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Frederick D. and Mary M. (Medeiros) Silvia.
Educated in Taunton schools, Mrs. Cranmer later worked for Swank Inc. as a soldering department supervisor.
Subsequently, she was employed by the Taunton Police Department, where she worked for over 23 years as an administrative clerk, retiring in 1996.
A communicant of Holy Family Church, she was past secretary of the Holy Family Women's Guild, past recording secretary for the Laborers' International Union of North American, Local 876, and was a longtime member of the Herring Runners Camping Association.
Mrs. Cranmer enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, and was fond of trips to Foxwoods and Twin Rivers.
Besides her husband, she leaves 3 sisters, Mary A. Casey of E. Taunton, Irene D. John of Shrewsbury, and Alexandria M. "Sandy" Lagace of E. Taunton; a daughter-in-law, Joanne C. Cranmer of TX; a granddaughter, Michelle N. Cranmer of TX; 2 aunts; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late David F. Cranmer.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, on Friday, June 5th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at Holy Family Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 4th from 5 to 8 p.m.
