Lourenco “Larry” D. Loureiro, age 60 of Taunton, beloved husband of Ilda Costa, passed away on January 25, 2019 at MA General Hospital.
Larry was born in Montreal, Canada, the son of the late Joao and Bernardete (Duarte) Loureiro.
Mr. Loureiro was a craftsman of many trades with an Engineering Technology degree from DeVry Institute of Technology. Before retiring, he was a Plating Room Technician with Symmetry Medical in New Bedford, MA. He was also a custom fabricator with Merrifield & Roberts in Bristol, RI.
His joy came from spending time with his wife, grandchildren, family, friends, and his pets. One of his favorite past times was remodeling his home and outdoor living space. He will always be remembered for his kindness, big heart, love of cooking and eating, and his quirky unfiltered humor.
Besides his beloved wife Ilda of over 25 years, he is survived by his step children Filipe Rocha and wife Paula Rocha of NY, Sara Rocha and husband Mike Lussier of Riverside, RI and Tania Rocha and husband Claude Chamalian of East Providence, RI. He was the grandfather of Jaden, Titan and Opal and was also the brother of Maria do Natal Loureiro of Montreal, Canada. He had many brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews, and friends that he loved dearly.
Larry’s funeral with visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 9 am followed by a funeral service at 11 am in the Chapel of the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
