Lucinda (Cavacco) De Sousa, age 79 of Berkley, passed away on April 2, 2026 at the Boston Medical Center in Brighton.
She was the beloved wife of Jose DeSousa.
Born in Plymouth, the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Annette (Roberge) Cavacco. She was the sister of the late Rosanna (Cavacco) Lake, and the late Robert Cavacco.
Before retiring, Lucinda was employed with Components in West Bridgewater as a manufacturer for over 20 years.
Lucinda enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved playing board games with her grandchildren, watching movies, reading, doing puzzles and crossword puzzles.
She was incredibly generous, frequently supporting numerous non-profits to help others. Lucinda was a source of joy, always bringing smiles to those around her.
She also enjoyed spending time outdoors with her husband, often admiring the birds and chipmunks. She had a deep affection for animals, especially dogs, including hers and her husband's beloved dog, Sokka.
Besides her beloved husband Jose of 59 years, Lucinda is survived by her loving children, Christopher DeSousa of Raynham and his wife the late Kelly DeSousa, Rebecca Fisher and her husband Sean Fisher of Taunton, and Jeanette Pottier of Assonet and her husband the late Daniel Pottier.
Lucinda was the beloved grandmother of seven grandchildren, Kristy DeSousa, Matthew Depin Jr., Mark Depin, Topanga Pottier, Andora Pottier, Kaylie Fisher, and the late Christopher DeSousa, Jr.; and great-grandmother of four, Mackenzie Depin, Zoey Depin, Rylie Depin, and Charlotte DeSousa. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mrs. DeSousa's funeral with visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at 8:30am at the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary's Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Annunciation of the Lord Church First Street, Taunton.
Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts made to; The Taunton Animal Shelter in Lucinda's memory, would be deeply appreciated.
