TAUNTON - Luisa M. (de Sousa) Carreiro, wife of Carlos E. Carreiro of Taunton died at Morton Hospital on June 9, 2016.
Born in St. Michael, Azores, she came here in 1974.
She was the daughter of the late Joaquim and Sophia (Pacheco) de Sousa. Luisa was employed for many years as a shoe factory worker for Frank Noone, and later Alden Shoe, retiring at age 62.
A communicant of St. Anthony Church, she enjoyed being a homemaker and loved Portuguese and Spanish soap operas.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Carla M. Carreiro of Taunton; two brothers, Joaquim de Sousa and Antonio de Sousa, both of St. Michael; one niece, Carolina Sousa.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Monday, June 13th at 8:30 a.m. followed by her funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
The family will be receiving visitors from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home prior to her funeral mass.
