TAUNTON - Luisa A. (Ferreira) Silva, wife of the late Manuel B. Silva, died at Life Care Center of Raynham after a lengthy illness on October 31, 2010.
She was 96.
Born in Feteiras, St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Joao and Helena (de Jesus) Ferreira.
She moved to Taunton in 1979 where she resided until relocating to Raynham.
A communicant of St. Anthony Church, Mrs. Silva enjoyed gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
She leaves three sons, Altino M. Silva and his wife Julieta of E. Providence, Jose M. Silva and his wife Zulmira of E. Providence, and Aires Silva and his wife Lucia of Canada; a daughter, Saulina M. Matos and her husband Ivo of Taunton; a son-in-law, Jose Lourenco of Taunton; a sister, Natalia Gomes of Portugal; ten grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Idalia Lourenco.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway Taunton, on Thursday Nov. 4th at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 9 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday Nov. 3rd from 5 to 8 p.m.
