Lydia (Cabral) Bowen

Lydia “Lídia” (Cabral) Bowen age, 81 of Taunton, passed away on April 19, 2025 at her residence with her loving family by her side. Born in Sao Miguel, Azores , Lydia was the daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Cambra) Cabral.

Lydia was employed with Reed and Barton for over 25 years and retired at 62. Lydia’s hobbies included gardening, cooking, and occasionally trying her luck at gambling. She enjoyed venturing to New Hampshire and Cape Cod. Her heart was never more full than when surrounded by grandchildren and especially babies that she nurtured with her unconditional love. She was married to the love of her life, Robert J. Bowen III for over 51 years. She cared for her beloved husband with unwavering devotion throughout his decade-long illness, embodying grace, strength, and deep, enduring love every step of the way.

Lydia is survived by her loving children, Cindy (Bowen) Ellis and her husband Michael Ellis of Raynham, predeceased daughter Kim (Bowen) Soares and her husband Ricky Soares of Taunton, predeceased daughter Corinne (Bowen) Coleman, her daughter Lynne (Bowen) Sheehan and Dave Sheehan of Taunton, and her daughter Tammy (Bowen) Carey and her husband Robert Carey of Raynham and her son, Robert Bowen and his wife Nicole Bowen of Taunton; her 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Lydia is survived by her sisters, Theresa Pacheco and Rose Costa as well as her nieces, Susan Perry and Gilda Pedro.

Mrs. Bowen’s funeral will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at 8 am followed by a Funeral Service beginning at 9 am  in the Chapel of the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway, Taunton.

Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, April 23rd from 5  to 7 pm in the Silva Funeral Home.
