Manuel Barros

Manuel S. Barros, age 89 of East Bridgewater, passed away on January 12, 2018 at Wedgemere Health Care in Taunton.

He was the beloved husband of the late Ana (Leandres) Barros who passed in 2015.

Born in Santa Maria, Azores a son of the late Jose and Maria (Bairos) Barros.

Before retirement, Mr. Barros was employed by the former Walkover Shoe Co of Bridgewater.

Manuel enjoyed fishing, Portuguese Soccer and was a loving and caring person who was devoted to his family.

Manuel was the father of Antonio Barros and his wife Nelia of Taunton , Jose Barros and his wife Inez of West Bridgewater, Ines Barros of Brockton, Ana Maria Pereira and her husband Alfredo of Taunton and Zelia Barros and her husband Valter Resendes, also of Taunton, grandfather of 10 and great-grandfather of 10 and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Maria Leandres, Conceicao Barros and the late Antonio Barros.

Manuel’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 8:15 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in Saint Anthony Church, School Street, Taunton.

Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held in the Silva Funeral Home on Monday, January 15th  from 4 to 7pm.
