Manuel C. DeBrito , age 71 of Taunton, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Morton Hospital.
He was the beloved husband of Emily (Rocha) DeBrito.
Manuel was born in Terceira, Azores, a son of the late Francisco and Maria (Corvelo) DaSilva.
Before retiring, Mr. DeBrito was employed as a cast iron molder and was a proud veteran of the Portuguese Army.
He was a member of the Taunton Sports, where he coached Taunton Sports Youth Soccer. He enjoyed watching sports, including his favorite soccer team Sporting CP. He took great pride in his yard, and had an immense love for his pets.
Besides his beloved wife Emily of over 48 years, he is survived by his loving son Sandro and his wife Jennifer of Taunton, a brother Joe DeSilva of RI, two sisters Iva Gomes of Taunton and Manuela Medeiros of Fall River. He was also the grandfather of his two precious granddaughters, Julia and Jenna. Manuel was also the brother of the late Francisco Brito.
Mr. DeBrito’s funeral with visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at 11 am with services beginning at 12 noon in the Chapel of the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton.
Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
