Manuel Hathaway

Manuel Hathaway, age 73 of Taunton, passed away on his birthday, March 21, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton.

He was the beloved husband of Cynthia (Szteliga) Hathaway.

Manuel was born in Taunton, a son of the late William and Jane (Andrade) Hathaway.

Before retirement, Mr. Hathaway was employed with Taunton Municipal Lighting Plant as a Line Foreman for over 30 years. Manuel proudly served his country with the Army as a Sgt during the Vietnam Era. He enjoyed hunting and camping. Mr. Hathaway was a loving and caring man who was devoted to his family.

Besides his beloved wife Cynthia of over 51 years, Manuel is survived by his loving children Robin and Shawn Hosford of Naples ME and Jeffrey and Julie Hathaway of Taunton. He was the grandfather of Corinne,Joshua and Alexander Hathaway and Willow Hosford, uncle of several nieces and nephews as well as several godchildren, he was the brother of Mat and Celia Tavares of Carlisle, MA William and Bonnie Hathaway of Dighton, MA, Frank Rogers of Taunton, Steve and Lori Rogers of East Taunton and Anne Sauerbier of Taunton, he was also the brother of the late Jean Spangler.

Mr. Hathaway’s funeral will be held on Monday, March 26, 2018 at 8:30 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Holy Rosary Church Bay Street, Taunton. Interment with military honors will be privately held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, March 25th from 2 to 5 pm in the Silva Funeral Home.
