Manuel L. Pacheco, age 85 of Pawtucket, passed away on October 22, 2022 at Miriam Hospital in Providence.
He was the beloved husband of the late Angelina (Oliveira) Pacheco who passed last December.
Manuel was born in Sao Miguel, Acores the son of the late Jose Luis and Maria Julio (Mauricio) Pacheco.
Before retiring in 1999, Mr. Pacheco was employed as a machine operator for over 35 years in a Chocolate factory.
Mr. Pacheco served with the Portuguese Army. He was a Devout Catholic attending Mass regularly. Manuel enjoyed gardening in his backyard, attending to his fruit trees and grape vineyard. He especially enjoyed talking on the phone with his family, his sisters, brother, and several nieces and nephews, he particularly enjoyed when they came over to visit him. He also liked spending time with his friend Senhor Luis and enjoyed Senhora Maria’s cooking. He really enjoyed visiting his home country of Sao Miguel, Acores Portugal. Manuel was the most caring and generous person you will ever meet, always helping his family, his neighbors and those in need. He will be missed by his entire family and friends.
Manuel is survived by his two sisters, Maria de Lourdes Pacheco, Maria dos Anjos Araujo, both of Portugal. His brother John Mendonsa of Alabama as well as several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late, Maria da Estrela Pacheco and Ernestina Teixeira.
Mr. Pacheco’s funeral with visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at 7:30am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Saint John Paul II Church 755 Central Avenue, Pawtucket RI. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.
