Manuel “Manny” P. daSilveira, age 87 of Taunton, passed away on November 23, 2023 at his home with his loving family by his side.
He was the beloved husband of Maria Fatima (Goulart) daSilveira.
Born in Faial, Azores, the son of the late Serafim and Maria (Rosa) Silveira.
Before retiring, Manuel was employed with the former St. Joseph Church now Saint Andrew the Apostle, as a Maintenance Technician.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling to Portugal yearly, cruses, fishing along side his two sons, playing cards, joking around landscaping most of all Manny loved his family and friends unconditionally and will be forever missed.
Besides his beloved wife Maria of over 60 years, Manuel is survived by his loving sons, Orlando Silveira and wife Melissa and Victor Silveira and Elizabeth Crowley all of Taunton. Grandfather of Adam, Angela, Alfred, Justin, Ryan, Justin, Samantha, great-grandfather of Landon, Brayleigh, Charleigh, Madison and Everett. Mr. daSilveira was also the brother of the late Joseph, Serafim Silveira, Aurora Pinheiro, Luisa Matos, Maria Silveira, Catarina DaRosa and the late Concecao DeMatos.
Manuel’s funeral will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023 at 9:45am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in Saint Andrew the Apostle Church Kilmer Avenue, Taunton.
Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, November 26th, from 4 to 7pm in the Silva Funeral Home.
