Margaret E. (Fontes) Rose

May 9, 1932 — April 7, 2020

Margaret Emily Rose, 87 lifelong resident of Taunton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at Longmeadow of Taunton. She was the wife of the late Arthur R. Rose and daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Lopes) Fontes. Margaret was also sister to the late Alice Fontes, Louise Montrond, Sonny, James, and John Fontes.

Margaret (aka) Nina was a member of the Baptist Church of All Nations and was proud to say she became a member at the age of 12. Nina graduated from Taunton High School and later worked at Taunton State Hospital, GE/Haskon and also as a security guard at Morton Hospital in the 70’s. She smiles when she tells the story that her badge number was 007. However her real passion and joy was working as a Home Health Aide. She absolutely loved taking care of people. She treated each one of her patients with the best of care and most of all with LOVE! Her favorite saying was, L.O.L. (Lots of Love!)

Nina enjoyed traveling, staying home playing games with her 6 children, and watching game shows. Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and Price is Right were some of her favorites. She just loved Knock Knock jokes. Knock Knock, who’s there? Happy, Happy who, Happy I met you! Yes, she truly loved everyone but most of all she loved God and she thanked him for blessing her with so many wonderful people in her life.

She is survived by her children, Ronald, Debra, Clifford, Kevin and the late Peggy and Scott Rose; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and beautiful in-laws.

We her children want to thank everyone for the love you showed her throughout the years. Knowing our Mom, she would say, make sure to tell all my friends, “L.O.L.  (LOTS OF LOVE!)”

To honor Nina's wishes, her funeral services will be privately held.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Baptist Church of All Nations, in her memory would be deeply appreciated.

“God bless you, stay safe and healthy” “Let’s take care and support each other.”

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Silva Funeral Home of Taunton.
