Margaret (Dupont) Valadao, age 88 of Raynham, passed away on February 4, 2021 at Marian Manor.

She was the beloved wife of the late John M. Valadao.

Margaret was born in Raynham, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Fontes) Dupont.

Before retiring, Mrs. Valadao along with her late husband owned and operated Valadao Travel Agency.

Margaret was a member of the Holy Ghost Society of East Taunton, the first woman president of the Taunton Area Chamber of Commerce and a founder of Top Ten Charters, a company she started in 1976.  In 1992, she was honored as the Prince Henry Society Portuguese American of the year.

She enjoyed traveling  and helping local families with their immigration cases.  Most of all she enjoyed the company of her family.

Margaret is survived by her loving children; Edward Valadao and wife Kathleen of Taunton and Maria Gomes and husband Bradford of Raynham. She was the grandmother of Erica Valadao, Nicholas Valadao, Jessica Bairos, Alexander Gomes and Samantha Gomes. Mrs. Valadao was also the sister of Rose Marie Muir of Raynham, Lorraine Raposa of East Taunton and was the sister of the late Joseph Dupont and the late Irene Keenan.

Mrs. Valadao’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 8:30am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Holy Family Church Middleboro Ave, East Taunton. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, February 8th from 4 to 7pm in the Silva Funeral Home.

(Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the Funeral Home.)

During all services, facial coverings and social distancing will be required.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in her memory, would be deeply appreciated.
