TAUNTON - Maria Luisa Almeida, wife of Candido Almeida of Taunton, died at Morton Hospital on April 21, 2015.
She was 79.
Born in Fornos de Algodres, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Jose and Maria Conceicao (Morais) Amaro do Santos.
She had lived in Taunton since 1966.
A homemaker for most of her adult life, Luisa was a doting parent; and enjoyed cooking, gardening and needlework.
She was a communicant of Annunciation of the Lord Church.
In addition to her husband, she leaves a son, Stephen A. Almeida of Taunton; a daughter, Ann Marie Almeida of Taunton; two brothers, Leonel Santos of Taunton, and Jose Santos of Raynham; a sister, Sara Santos of NJ; and many nieces and nephews, and extended family.
She was also the sister of the late Luis Santos of CT.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Saturday, April 25th at 8:30 a.m. followed by her funeral mass at Annunciation of the Lord Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
The family will be receiving visitors from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., prior to the funeral mass.
