Maria Augusta (Matos) Silveira

TAUNTON - Maria Augusta (Matos) Silveira, wife of the late Manuel G. Silveira, died at Morton Hospital and Medical Center on Sept. 15, 2010.
She was 94.
Born in Faial, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Gabriel and Inacia (DaRosa) Matos.
Educated in the Azores, she had lived in Taunton since 1959.
Mrs. Silveira was employed by the former Coppercraft Guild for twenty-two years before retiring in 1981.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony Church, and enjoyed sewing, needlecraft, cooking and traveling.
She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons, Manuel A. Silveira and his wife Elsa of Taunton, Orlando M. Silveira and his wife Marie of Attleboro, and Mario G. Silveira and his wife Jane of Stoughton; six grandsons, Peter, David, Stephen, Daniel, Nicholas, and Michael Silveira; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Tomas DaRosa and Manuel, Gabriel and Luis Matos.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Tuesday, Sept. 21st at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 9 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday, Sept. 20th from 5 to 8 p.m.
