TAUNTON - Maria C. (de Bairos) de Bairos, wife of the late Francisco de Bairos, died at her Taunton home on Oct. 9, 2011.
She was 95.
Born in Santa Maria, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Antonia (Sousa) de Bairos.
Mrs. de Bairos was educated in the Azores, and moved to this country in 1971.
Employed by the former Princess House as a packer for many years, she retired in 1986.
A communicant of St. Anthony Church, Mrs. de Bairos enjoyed cooking, knitting and spending time with her family.
Survivors include a son, Jose de Bairos of Taunton; seven daughters, Maria T. Fraga, Isabel Bairos, Rosa Tavares, Rita Bairos, Lucia Leandres, Maria C. Cabral and Fernanda B. Silveira, all of Taunton; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Maria de Bairos, Emilia Freitas, Ana de Chaves, Conceicao de Bairos, Maria Jose Chaves, Filomena Pereira and Sister Angelina Bairos.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Thursday, Oct. 13th at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 11 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday Oct. 12th from 5 to 8 p.m.
