Maria I. (Carvalho) Camara

TAUNTON - Maria I. (Carvalho) Camara, wife of the late Francisco de Sales Camara, died at Morton Hospital on Jan. 1, 2009.
She was 81.
Born in St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Maria Conceicao (Viveiros) Carvalho.
Educated in the Azores, she moved to this area in 1984.
A communicant of St. Anthony Church, she was happiest when cooking for her family and spending time with them.
She leaves 3 sons, Manuel C., Vincent F., and Thomas A. Camara, all of Taunton; 2 daughters, Maria M. Medeiros of Stoughton, and Maria L. Medeiros of Taunton; a sister, Maria Conceicao Carvalho of St. Michael; 8 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Monday, Jan. 5th at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 9 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be on Sunday, from 5 to 7 p.m.
