Maria (Sousa) Chaves

Maria ( Sousa) Chaves, age 86, passed away on November 9, 2023 at Jewish Convalescent Home, New Bedford Mass. She was the beloved wife of the late Antonio A. Chaves. Born in Santa Maria, Azores. The daughter of the late Jose and Umbelina (Braga) Sousa. Maria is survived by her loving children, Jose Chaves and wife Sherry, Angelo Chaves and wife Maria, Arsenio Chaves, and wife Vicky, David Chaves and wife Kathy and the late Antonio (Tony) Chaves and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also the sister of Gloria Leonardo, CT, Conceição Tavares, Canada, late sister Filomena Chaves and the late brothers António Sousa, José Sousa, Agostinho Sousa and Manuel Sousa. Funeral Services will be held privately. Interment will be held in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Taunton. Arrangements are with the Siva Funeral Home of Taunton.
