Maria V. (Sousa) Cruz

Maria Vitoria (Sousa) Cruz, 78, passed away May 14, 2018 at Taunton Nursing Home.

She was the wife of Antonio Da Cruz.

Vitoria was born in Madeira, Portugal the daughter of the late Antonio Gomes and Laura (Barros) Sousa.

Before retirement she was a seamstress at Rennie's Curtain Factory for many years. Vitoria enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, and traveling.  She was a loving, caring wife, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Besides her beloved husband Antonio of 42 years, she is survived by her sisters; Laura Nunes and Maria Piedade Caldeira and her husband Noe and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Alirio, Fernando and Bazilio Sousa and sister-in-law of the late Joao Nunes.

Maria’s Funeral will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 8 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint  Mary’s Square ) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am in Saint Anthony Church,  School St. Taunton. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.

Visiting Hours will be held in Silva Funeral on Friday, May 18th from 5-8pm.

(Additional parking with handicap access is located on the north side of the funeral home)
