Maria V. ( Felipe) Freitas, age 78 of Taunton, passed away on June 20, 2018 at home with her loving family by her side.
She was the beloved wife of the late Mateus R. Freitas.
Maria was born in Faial, Azores, a daughter of the late Manuel and Catarina ( da Conceicao) Felipe.
Before retirement, Mrs. Freitas was employed with Wilshire American Lighting for many years.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking, taking cruises with her late husband Mateus, walking with her friends, taking trips to the casino and most of all spending time with her family and friends.
Maria is survived by her son; Joseph Freitas of Taunton, daughter; Aida Wentworth and husband Thomas of N. Attleboro, grandchildren; Drew Wentworth and Randy Wentworth. She was the sister of Paulino Felipe and Maria Zelia. Maria was the sister of the late Jose Felipe, Maria Lidia, Maria Serafina, Maria Jose and Mariazinha.
Mrs. Freitas’s funeral will be held on Monday June 25, 2018 at 8:30am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Annunciation of the Lord Church, 31 First St. Taunton. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday June 24th from 1 to 4 pm in the Silva Funeral Home.
